Şımarık, babasının verdiği ceza sonucunda kendini 16. yüzyıl Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nda bulan bir adamın hikayesini konu ediyor. Mete, zengin bir babanın kuralsız, sorumsuz ve şımarık oğludur. Oğlunun durmak bilmeyen taşkınlıklarından yorulan ve buna bir son vermek isteyen babası, onu sıra dışı bir cezaya çarptırır. Mete, zamanda yolculuk yaptığına inanarak, 16. yüzyıl Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nda kurmaca bir köye gönderilir ve burada bir seyis olarak yaşamaya zorlanır.
